Wireless power transfer (WPT) technology is a system that allows the transmission or transfer of electrical energy without the need of physical connections, it uses the electromagnetic fields generated by a transmitting resonator and captured by a receiving resonator which resonates at the excitation frequency of the power source to transfer power. With the advancement of biomedical devices, wireless medical implants have gained extensive attention due to their advantages, they can be charged using Inductive power transfer. However, innovators and researchers face a challenge in maximizing the transfer of power efficiently while managing the human exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs) to ensure safety. In this book proposes an approach to improve power transfer efficiency by incorporating the use of shielding materials. We firstly aim to design a 3D coil with its shields and inserting a human head model to conduct our study. Furthermore, we will investigate the use of varying shield materials using ASYS MAXWELL 3D design and HFSS design to evaluate and compare its effectiveness on the overall system performance.
