"Nest Factor" is an Australian bush-themed musical family adventure-comedy inspired by big musical set pieces. It follows Riley, a fearless aspiring showman, and Ollie, a quiet musical genius, who grow up in a musically rich environment fostered by their mother, a dedicated music teacher. The story takes a turn when Ollie is targeted by Angus, a schoolyard bully, which causes Ollie to lose confidence and retreat from music and singing. Riley embarks on a mission to help Ollie regain his voice and joy through humour, music fandom, and the support of an underground group called the Basement Band. Their journey culminates in their participation in the televised talent competition Nest Factor, where they confront fear, trauma, and shame, ultimately triumphing with a performance that celebrates resilience and kindness.
