Twenty-two-year-old Marja meets Greg at a home party in Finland on a rainy September evening in 2016. A year later, she arrives in Chicago with a K-1 fiancé visa and a dream of happiness. Her dream turns quickly into a nightmare when she finds herself all alone and scared in a strange city after her new husband has abandoned her. While she waits to file for a divorce, she meets Miguel through her new friend Jimena and falls in love.
