Alan Turing (1912-1954), mathematician and logician, is considered to be the father of computer science and artificial intelligence. He was also a biology theorist and a philosopher : he is credited with being the first to establish a link between logic and biology. In this book, the author attempts to retrace the extraordinary career of this exceptional scientist, who was also a man of action : during World War II, while German submarines were blockading England, he deciphered messages coded by th Enigma machine., transmitted by radio from Berlin. Despite the post-war shortage, he designed a computing device project which he managed to make operational. As early as 1945, he began planning a project to « build a brain »...
