This work has been prepared to provide a clear and structured understanding of tribal development in India, particularly in the context of modernization and globalization. It aims to present a comprehensive overview of the economic, social, cultural, and political changes experienced by tribal communities over time.The content is organized systematically to cover key themes such as constitutional safeguards, land and forest rights, welfare schemes, livelihood transformations, and development strategies. Special emphasis has been placed on explaining both the opportunities and challenges arising from modernization and globalization in tribal areas.Case studies of major tribal communities have been included to highlight the diversity of tribal life and to provide real-world illustrations of theoretical concepts. These examples help in understanding how different tribes adapt to changing socio-economic conditions while preserving their cultural identity.This work is intended to serve as a useful resource for students, researchers, and anyone interested in tribal studies and development issues.
