On September 15, 1977, Edward Thomas Hardy was born in Hammersmith, London; his mother is an artist and painter named Elizabeth Anne (Barrett), and his father is a writer named Chips Hardy. He is of Irish and English ancestry. Hardy first attended Reed's School before growing up in East Sheen, London.
