Sargenta Carmen Ramírez Paragón is that WOMAN! She steps into the limelight as CO and is soon affronting Church and State. She takes up the reins of the murder investigation, and soon has suspicions about the Priest, particularly when she finds dots of blood on the church wall, and then encounters the Priest himself with a golf bag. Not many golf courses on steep mountain sides. Could the bag contain a sword? Yet another sword? From the looks she gets, she might be the next to lose her head.
Jesús is no longer investigating, instead he falls in Love with the murderess. But if raging tears and pounding the table shouting, 'No, no, no!' is anything to go by, it is not only regretted but unrequited. We hear more of Chelo's story and what happened to her in the drug-growing area of the Sierra Madre of Mexico, and how it led to a mistaken decapitation. Ooops, sorry, is this your head?
Pepe of the Guardia also falls in Love with somewhat more success than Jesús. And he lucks into what he thinks will be wondrous wealth, which will allow him to shower his lady love with everything she could want, including him, but...
