The Port of Genoa, witness to their growing up, quickly disappeared behind them as their destination unfolded: the East.
Thus began their on-the-road journey, an extraordinary odyssey through the Balkans and the Anatolian steppes, reaching the mythical lands of Iran, Afghanistan, India, and Thailand.
