Halloween always left a bitter taste in Riley's mouth. While other kids went trick-or-treating, she was always stuck at home writing an essay or being all dressed up for one of her parent's parties.
University had changed a few things, but she never really embraced the holiday.
This Halloween was supposed to be different. Riley only wanted a fun night out after years of holding back, so sucking up the courage and partying with her flatmates seemed like a great idea.
She stepped out that day expecting far less than what she was in for, not knowing that a night of terror and kindled feelings awaited her. Because she didn't realise the one crucial thing.
