In branch of prosthodontics there are many challenges to create to an oral environment that can support prosthesis without causing harm to underlying structures. During complete denture construction problems like bony tissue deficiency, tori, lack of adequate bone height, soft tissue deficiency etc. may be encountered.To achieve best outcome we have to overcome these problems. conservation of the oral tissues should be the aim of all operators and surgical reduction of denture bearing area should always be kept to a minimum.this approach can be achieve by Preprosthetic surgery which is a team work but the Prosthodontist is the heart of this treatment planning. Prosthodontist and surgeon alike have tended to neglected this aspect their daily work and much remainsto be learned in this difficult but rewarding field of endeavour.. It is to be hoped that, in the future, the subject will receive the attention it merit. So, It is essential for Prosthodontist to be aware of Preprosthetic surgery in complete denture.
