One of the largest networks in the world, it features classic locally built Tatra T3s in various guises, Soviet-era cars of a general design that were to be found all over the Eastern bloc in the days of the Cold War. These PCC-derived machines have been rebuilt and reengineered for the twenty-first century. They operate alongside the more angular KT8s of the 1980s and up-to-date low-floor air-conditioned vehicles with WiFi. There is also a scheduled service operated by preserved trams. The tramway operator is also responsible for a two-car funicular. All this with the backdrop of the castle high on its promontory, winding cobbled streets, and graceful bridges makes for a treat for the photographer and the transport enthusiast.
