Everybody in today's world is aware of the importance of herbal medicine. Herbal medicine plays a crucial role in human healthcare. "Healing Products" extracted from an array of medicinal plants play significant role in the various well known ailments. The plant based formulations have proven biologically more compatible with human system are comparatively less toxic and have fewer side effects. As plant parts or whole plant containing primary and secondary metabolites having medicinal properties in them, it is believed that Pollen as one of the gamete carrier may contain array of medicinal constituents in them. Owing to the medicinal importance a detailed Palynological studies of some medicinal plants have been focused. Palynological investigations like Pollen morphology, Pollen production, Viability, Germination (in vivo, invitro), Pollen storage along with Phytochemical screening for different constituents present in pollen parts are being studied with an emphasis that it will open an new vision in the field of medicines.
