Ausgehend von einer kurzen biographischen Skizze wird in dem vorliegenden Buch untersucht, worin die architektonische Poesie der Projekte Leonidows besteht und warum diese Poesie der Zukunft in den 30er Jahren unter den Bedingungen der soziokulturellen und politökonomischen Umwälzungsprozesse in der Sowjetunion an einer architektonischen Poesie der Gegenwart zersplitterte. In the 1920s the young architect from the Soviet Union, Ivan Leonidov, gained international recognition. The architectonic poetry of his projects continues to fascinate people to this day. Experts consider Leonidov to be the architect of the 20th century. After providing a brief biography, this contribution examines the features that contribute to the architectonic poetry of Leonidov s projects. It then analyses how the dramatic sociocultural, political and economic changes in the Soviet Union led to the fragmentation of this poetry in the 1930s.
