Fourteen-year-old Marco Gutierrez and his four best friends have spent too many summers doing absolutely nothing. This summer, they decide to change that by floating the entire length of the Chattahoochee River to the Gulf of Mexico.
No real plan and no idea what's waiting for them downstream.
What begins as an ambitious escape from boredom quickly turns into something none of them expected. Deep in the Georgia woods, they cross paths with a mysterious, possibly dangerous stranger. And close behind them is the corrupt Chattahoochee River Authority, an organization that will stop at nothing to end their journey before it's finished.
The Gulf is waiting for them. But getting there might be more than they bargained for.
