[God's Vitality] Is God a living reality, in a dynamic relation to the world - or merely its powerless accompanier, a final reference point, or a product of humanity's preoccupation with its own identity? The systematic-theological contributions in this volume argue for the first possibility and thus understand theology as the discovery and description of the living God. They display God as tangible in prayer, and as daring, risk-taking and vulnerable in Jesus Christ. In God's Spirit, the vulnerable God is not only perceiving, but also life-giving and death-conquering. Christian hope is therefore directed towards God's passionate and creative new confrontation with humanity, which transforms the destructive risks and darkness of this world.
