Über die Darstellung von Persönlichkeit und Wirken des letzten preußischen Oberhofpredigers und 'Primas' des deutschen Protestantismus seiner Zeit werden Ein- und Ausblicke in die Kirchengeschichte und die Hofatmosphäre - insbesondere der drei im eigentlichen Sinne 'wilhelminischen' Jahrzehnte vermittelt.
