There are places in this world that don't appear on maps. Places where the water runs too cold, the forest stays too quiet, and the legends warning people away are older than anyone can remember. Blackwater Lake is one of them. Locals call it deep. They say things don't come back from it. They don't say what "things" means.
Five college friends went there for what was supposed to be one last carefree weekend before graduation. They wanted sun, stories, and a break from everything pressing. What they found was something impossible. While camping near the shore, they discovered strange prints in the mud, a buoy that shouldn't exist, and a seam beneath the water that looked too straight to be natural.
Curiosity pulled them deeper. The lake pulled them under.
They were taken to a hidden underwater base, a place that wasn't human and wasn't meant to be found. Inside, they saw tanks holding people suspended between life and death. They met creatures that were intelligent, organized, and predatory. They learned that the government knew. They learned that a deal had been made. And they learned that some truths are hidden because they're too dangerous to expose.
But they also learned something else: together, they were stronger. Through fear, capture, and a desperate escape, their bond became their weapon. They made it back to land. They tried to warn the world. And they discovered that the hardest battle isn't surviving the alien threat it's making people believe it exists.
