In 1944, Earth convulsed. Mountains rose where waters once flowed, cities crumbled into jagged ruins, and creatures of nightmares crawled forth from the fractured reality. Humanity, on the brink of annihilation, built towering megacities, fortresses against the encroaching darkness.
There lies safety... but at a cost.
These bastions are all that remain of civilization, yet they teeter on the edge of despair. Beyond their walls, the Lost Lands spread endlessly-poisoned forests, monster-infested swamps, radioactive wastelands. Out there, ragged survivors eke out an existence, haunted by whispers of the Unforeseen and the crushing weight of daily survival.
Six centuries of bloodshed have dulled the terror, but not the darkness. Complacency rots the megacities from within. In the Lost Lands, desperation breeds cults promising twisted salvation, and brutal warlords carve their bloody kingdoms. But somewhere, a spark remains that could reignite a dying world...or consume it utterly.
