Inspiring students to write creatively has been one of the great challenges that teachers of English and the written word have faced for decades. Teaching the technical writing process can be a challenging task; however, inspiring students to expand their imaginations to write creatively can be even more challenging. In "26 Odd: Creative Works by Creative Writers," students delve into the inner depths of their minds to expose their deepest thoughts. This has required a tremendous amount of trust on the part of both the teacher an the students. For some, it's the first time in their lives that they have been challenged to think outside the box and to freely express their thoughts and feelings in such an open forum. I hope you enjoy this wonderful collection of original poems and passages written by a talented group of students and faculty from West Scranton High School.
